Phuentsholing, Bhutan: 31/12/2011: CPB (MLM) expresses deep sympathy to the victims of fire incident of Beldangi Bhutanese Refugee Camp, Jhapa, Nepal. 18 huts were ablaze and turn into ashes on 21/12/2011 at around 9.00 pm.
It is believed that fire started from the briquette stove of Mr. Ram Bdr. B.K’s hut, who hails at Beldangi 1, sector G, hut no. 12, at 9.00 pm. According to police, the victims were rehabilitated to near by school buildings and donor agencies’ premises. 7 huts were completely ablaze and 11 were demolished in the rescue operation.
Expressing deep sympathy towards the victims, Com. Vikalpa, the G.S. of CPB (MLM), regretted that the Camp Management Committee (CMC) and Nepal Government have been failing repeatedly to check such painful incidents. He also appealed the donor agencies and the Government of Nepal for the minimum humanitarian remunerations for the victims. He also urged the party cadres to extend possible helping-hand in the rehabilitation work.
